In 2021, Businesses Reach for the Sustainability Stars
The theme of Earth Day 2021 is Restore Our Earth™. That may seem like an overwhelming goal for those of us in the manufacturing business – especially when a good percentage of our core products are currently made from plastic. Yet brands across all industries, such as Amazon®, REI®, Amgen®, Volvo Group®, and Ikea® (among hundreds of others) are answering the charge with ambitious goals for 2025, 2030, and 2040. It’s no wonder – ambitious sustainable-cards programs make good business sense. Consumers are asking for it (three out of four consumers report concerns about climate change), investors are asking for it (85% of U.S. individual investors are interested in sustainable investing), and in a surprise twist, businesses are increasingly supporting stronger regulation to protect the environment.
Where we stand
We join with the ICMA in recognizing the value of environmental leadership in the card industry. As a leading supplier of plastic cards, we are keenly aware of our obligation to address sustainable-cards throughout the life cycle of the products we bring to market. In honor of Earth Day 2021, we welcome you to share in our efforts and to hold us accountable. We are committed to taking steps to reduce our carbon footprint and to address sustainable-cards throughout the life-cycle of the products we bring to market. Across our business, many of our conservation strategies are grounded in the 4R Principles: Reduce, Reuse, Replace, Recycle. These strategies are applied in the areas of Sourcing, Operations, and Product Offerings.

Whether your sustainable-cards goals focus primarily on energy conservation, reduced plastics, recyclability, or sustainable forestry, we offer a variety of product choices to support you in your efforts. As a matter of fact, we have been FSC® multi-site Chain-of-Custody certified (FSC® C107074) since 2011.
